The complaint every condo board hears is "our floor never gets done". A corridor rotation you can actually see answers it. Generate a free printable common elements cleaning log in 30 seconds: add your corporation name and the area, then print it or save it as a PDF. Common elements only — no units, and not a pool operating record.
Takes 30 seconds. Print one per area, initial after each clean, and keep the completed sheets with the corporation's records.

A board is accountable to owners who all believe their own floor is the neglected one. A cleaning record is the cheapest way to replace an argument with a document.
In a tower, corridors run on a rotation rather than all at once, which is correct and also invisible to residents. The Floor / rotation column records which floors were covered on which date, so a board can answer the complaint in one glance instead of relying on the contractor's word.
Whether balconies, lockers and parking spaces are the corporation's or the owner's is set by your declaration. A log that records what was cleaned — and by omission what was not — is evidence that the contractor worked to the scope the corporation actually agreed, not to whatever the last one assumed.
Odour, pests and fire load all trace back to residue in a chute, and the deep-clean cycle is the item most often quietly skipped. Logging the scheduled deep clean separately from the daily room clean is how a board finds out it stopped happening.
When the contract goes out to bid, a year of completed sheets tells you what was actually delivered rather than what was specified. That is the difference between comparing two quotes and comparing two quotes against reality.
Want the common elements cleaned and the records handled for you? Our common elements cleaning service scopes from your declaration, quotes to a written specification a board can compare, and leaves a signed log after every visit. No units, no lock-in.

Corridors in a mid-rise or tower are cleaned on a rotating schedule — a set of floors each visit so every floor is covered within the week. That is the right way to do it and it is completely invisible to a resident on floor 14. Recording which floors were covered on which date turns "our floor never gets done" from an argument into something anyone can check.
No. A unit belongs to its owner and has nothing to do with the corporation’s cleaning contract. If a corridor or lift lobby needed cleaning because of something that started in a unit, record it as the common-element area it was — and note it separately, since the board may be able to charge it back depending on the declaration.
Those are usually exclusive-use common elements, and whether the corporation or the owner is responsible for them is set by your declaration rather than by convention. Only log what your declaration and your cleaning specification actually place with the corporation. If the two disagree, fix the specification before the season starts.
No. Water chemistry, testing, dosing and the operating record for a pool or whirlpool are the operator’s duty under Ontario’s public pool and public spa regulations, inspected by your local public health unit. This sheet covers the pool deck, surrounds and change rooms. Keep the two records apart.
We are not going to tell you what your governing documents require — read the declaration, the by-laws and the rules, and take advice from the corporation’s own advisors. What we can say is that a dated record of what was cleaned, where, with what and by whom is useful to a board whether or not anything obliges it: at tender time, when an owner complains, and when the manager changes. The Condominium Authority of Ontario is the place to start on the governance side.
